Don Moen wrote or co-wrote 6 of the 15 songs on Thank You Lord, including the title cut, which he penned after asking the Lord for a "simple song of thanks" that people could sing to express the gratitude in their hearts.  Other songs on the album include "Arise" (co-written with Paul Baloche), the English/Spanish "Mi Corazone" (co-written with producer David Hamilton) and "Jesus, You Are My Healer," which Moen wrote for a friend who was diagnosed with cancer.  That friend was able to attend the album recording and continues to improve in spite of his diagnosis.
